Product Barcode Guide

Understand Our Product Barcode / SKU

At FJ Fallon Jewelry, every product barcode is designed to carry clear product information. It helps wholesalers, distributors, and our production team quickly identify plating color, product category, stone option, size, chain length, and other key details.

What Is a FJ Fallon Jewelry SKU?

A complete SKU is more than a simple product number. It is a structured barcode that combines plating color, product position, product attribute, main style number, and optional suffixes.

First Example of a complete SKU:

F83200297-15-09

F8 + 3 + 2 + 00297 + -15 + -09
Example Meaning: This SKU represents a Rose Gold Ring with stones, stone color code -15, and ring size #09.

Second Example of a complete SKU:

54100101-45

5 +++ 00101 + -45 + (No 2. Suffix)
Example Meaning: This SKU represents a 14K Yellow Gold Chain with a length of 45cm.

Basic Structure of Our SKU

1. Plating Color Code

The first part of the SKU identifies the plating color, such as 14K gold, champagne gold, rose tone, or white gold.

2. Product Category Code

The second part identifies the product category, such as earrings, rings, chains, bracelets, pendants, or jewelry sets.

3. Product Attribute Code

The third part shows whether the item is plain, stone-set, enamel-designed, or belongs to a specific product structure.

4. Main Style Number

The main style number identifies the product design itself. The same design can usually be produced in different plating colors.

5. First Suffix

The first suffix may represent stone color, chain length, bracelet length, or ring size depending on the product type.

6. Second Suffix

The second suffix is commonly used for ring size when the ring has stones, or for special length details in selected chain products.

Common Plating Color Codes

The plating color code appears at the beginning of the SKU. Some color codes use only one number, while others include a letter before the number.

Color Code Color Name Common Description
F8 585 Russian Rose Gold Also known as Champagne Gold
F9 585 Russian Rose Gold Two-Tone Rose Gold comes with Silver
5 14K Yellow Gold 14K Yellow Gold tone
Z5 14K Yellow Gold Two-Tone 14K Yellow Gold comes with Silver
F4 White Gold Color White-gold tone, no rhodium included.
1 18K Yellow Gold 18K Yellow Gold by water electroplating

Product Category Codes

The product category code is usually the second position of the SKU and helps quickly identify which type of jewelry the product belongs to.

Code Product Category Example Use
1 Jewelry Set Earrings + ring, earrings + pendant, or full matching set
2 Earrings Hoop earrings, Russian lock earrings, studs, huggies
3 Rings Fashion rings, wedding bands, engagement rings, men’s rings
4 Chains Cuban chains, Figaro chains, rope chains, box chains
5 Bracelets Chain bracelets, ID bracelets, men’s bracelets
6 Pendants Cross pendants, religious pendants, heart pendants, zodiac pendants
7 Bangles Less commonly used for selected bangle products

Main Attribute Codes

The attribute code usually appears after the product category code. It helps identify whether the product is plain, stone-set, or has special design details.

1

Plain Jewelry Without Stones

Code 1 usually means the product is a clean-color item without stone setting. For most chains, this attribute is fixed as 1.

2

Jewelry With Stones

Code 2 means the product contains stones. In this case, a suffix may be used to identify the stone color.

4

Enamel or Oil-Painted Design (Less Used)

Code 4 is commonly used for products with enamel-style or oil-drop design, such as black enamel details.

+

Additional Sub-Attributes

Some newer SKUs may include more detailed sub-attribute information, such as set relationship, stone craft, or detailed product position.

How Suffixes Work

Suffixes appear after the main SKU body.

A SKU may have one suffix, two suffixes, or no suffix depending on the product type.

Stone Color

For stone-set products, the first suffix often represents the stone color. This helps customers distinguish different stone options within the same design.

Chain or Bracelet Length

For chains and bracelets, the suffix usually represents length. A chain product should normally include a length suffix.

Ring Size

For rings, the final suffix usually represents the ring size. For stone-set rings, the second suffix is commonly used for size.

Important: If a ring does not have a final size suffix (Resizable Rings excluded) , or a chain does not have a length suffix, the SKU may need to be checked again before ordering.

Why SKU Accuracy Matters

Faster Product Identification

Clear SKUs help customers and sales teams quickly identify the exact product, color, stone option, and size.

More Accurate Orders

Correct SKU information reduces mistakes when confirming wholesale orders, samples, color options, and ring sizes.

Better Inventory Management

Structured product barcodes make it easier to manage ready stock, production, packing, and repeat orders.

Simple Reading Example

52233001-01

5 + 2 + 2 + 33001 + -01 + (No 2. Suffix)
Example Meaning: This can be understood as a 14K gold color earring product with stones. The main body identifies the design, while the suffix may indicate a stone color or other product option depending on the item.
